Southern California University of Health Sciences

Southern California University of Health Sciences (known as SCU or SCUHS) is a private, not-for-profit institute of higher education founded in 1911, with a focus on complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). Its 38-acre campus is located in Whittier, California.〔http://www.scuhs.edu/about/〕 SCUHS is home to the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic and the College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. The Los Angeles College of Chiropractic was founded on October 18, 1911 by Dr. Charles Cale and his wife Linnie Cale.〔http://www.chiro.org/Plus/History/Persons/CaleChas/Cale-photos/Cale_&_Family.pdf〕 The first graduating class had only three students, and classes were taught in the Cale's home.〔http://www.laalmanac.com/education/ed53c.htm
